Studies show Yoga helps mental health and addiction recovery

Recently participated in a Yoga Alliance CE webinar on the topic of studies that prove yoga is a wonderful tool for addiction recovery and treatment for mental illnesses. To see actual graphs from studies with opioid addicts, smokers, mental health patients is wonderful. The charts showing improvement in self regulation and craving reductions along with the anxiety reduction through breathwork all support what our foundation wants to bring to schools. If children can learn simple techniques from yoga at a young age to help manage their emotions or deal with trauma they will handle life’s bumps in a healthy way. If we can teach students all this, they will be less likely to self medicate. Help us help them.
